Adriana Aguilar
Is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist working and raised in the West Texas desert of the Permian Basin. Her practice reflects an interest in vibrancy, culture, and texture, and her work often merges visual tension, articulating a balance between control and spontaneity.
Drawing inspiration from lived experiences and community connection, Adriana’s art explores identity and emotion through both traditional and experimental mediums, bringing together both personal expression and community storytelling. Her creative practice often blends vibrant color, queer joy, and cultural storytelling. At the heart of her practice is meditation on community and human impact, expressed by interactive installations, layered textures, precise line work, and fluid movement.
In addition to her studio work, Adriana spent her 20’s volunteering and sitting on multiple LGBTQ+ nonprofit boards, she served as President of Basin Pride, a nonprofit dedicated to celebrating and uplifting the LGBTQ+ community across West Texas. Through this role, she combined art and activism, curating inclusive events and collaborative installations that bring visibility and joy to underrepresented voices.
Adriana continues to create work that honors individuality and collective empowerment, inviting others to see beauty in softness and strength.
